Kehadiran orang tua tidak hanya berarti berada di rumah, tetapi juga hadir secara emosional bagi anak. Anak membutuhkan perhatian, waktu, dan kesediaan orang tua untuk mendengarkan cerita serta keluh kesah mereka. Dari sinilah rasa percaya mulai terbentuk.
Mendengarkan anak tanpa menghakimi membuat mereka merasa dihargai. Ketika anak merasa aman untuk berbicara, mereka akan lebih terbuka menerima nasihat dan arahan. Hubungan yang dilandasi rasa saling percaya memudahkan orang tua membimbing anak tanpa harus menggunakan paksaan.
Konsistensi juga menjadi kunci penting dalam mendidik anak. Aturan yang berubah-ubah justru membingungkan dan membuat anak sulit patuh.
